- Vodka Classifiation:
Vodkas are mostly distilled from grains such as sorghum, corn, rye or wheat, and are made through mashing – fermentation – distillation – filtration – dilution – blending.
The main distiller is responsible for distilling the vodka and directing its filtration, which includes removing the fore spray, heads, and tails. These components of the distillate contain flavor compounds such as ethyl acetate and ethyl lactate as well as impurities that affect the often desired clean taste of vodka. Through multiple rounds of distillation, or using fractional distillation, the flavor is altered and clarity is added.
Vodka uses a continuous still, which is also called a tower still. The definition of a tower still is very simple. . Their outer structure is mainly cylindrical in shape.
- What is the raw material for making Vodka?
(1) neutral vodka This type of vodka is what we know as original vodka. This type of vodka is made by fermenting, distilling, and filtering through activated carbon from grains, potatoes and other raw materials. It does not need to be aged before bottling.
(2) flavored vodka The emergence of this type of vodka has made more and more flavored martinis. The production method of this type of vodka is similar to the production method of gin. First, use the original vodka liquid and soak it with the flavor ingredients we want. A new flavored vodka obtained by distillation after steeping. For example: Apple Vodka, Chili Vodka, etc.
(3) green vodka Green vodka is a wine produced by soaking a kind of thatch that buffalo likes to eat called “buffalo lemongrass” in neutral vodka, that is, original vodka. This vodka has a delicate, fragrant, grassy flavor and is straw-colored, often with a buffalo lemongrass in the bottle. This brewing method originated in Poland, and this type of vodka is relatively rare on the market.
